And he was right! Enjoyment is an art people seem to forget about. If you would only know what you are sometimes missing, even with really “simple” things in life such as a slice of bread with butter and chives.

Because the sum of the bill does not always reflect the ability of a person to enjoy life. The cultivation of the senses is part of human nature just like desire, lust and greed.

Let’s take a small piece of cheese as an example: the ultimate enjoyment when you stop at a cottage somewhere in the forest after a long hike. Emmentaler cheese, which has matured in the cellar, is simply overwhelmingly good with his taste nuances. And then you obviously need some bread to go with this wonderful piece of cheese. But not just any kind of bread, but bread made with brown flour, baked in a wood-fired oven. A farmer’s bread, like the kind you can still get at the Blåse-Farm.

It is the same way with all other kinds of food. We should just be a bit more aware of the carefully cooked, the unspoiled original kitchen (e.g. what we call “home cooking”). Therefore we strive to always have the most important addresses for the freshest chicken, the crispiest bread, the colorful hand-made pasta, the crunchiest salad, the properly spiced bacon etc…
